Totem: Concert Sharing FAQs

What is Totem?
Totem is a social media platform designed to connect live music fans worldwide. You can meet people in your area, find people that are going to the same events as you, upload and organize your content taken from concerts & music festivals, find new events that are tailored to your music interests, and so much more!

How do I use Totem?
After you download Totem: Concert Sharing from the App Store or Google Play Store, you start off by creating your profile page. You can add your favorite artists, favorite events, favorite songs, and other information about your music interests. This will help us find events for you, as well as find other Totem users who share similar profiles.
Once you have created your profile page, you can then upload all of your past concert photos/ videos by creating "Memories." Memories are what we call folders that store your content, organized by the name of the event, and year that the event took place. Each photo and video in Memories can be toggled on private, or public by touching the lock button next to each square.
You can then find other Totem users by either typing in their name/ username, or going to the Explore Page on the bottom right icon. On the explore page, Friend Suggestions will appear. Friend Suggestions are other Totem users who are near your location or have similar profiles to your own! Follow them, and have them join your tribe!
By clicking on the Events tab on the bottom of the screen, you can then explore thousands of events, updated daily. Events are divided into Top Music Festivals, EDM Festivals, For You (based on location and music interests on your profile), and Upcoming Events. If you are sponsoring your own event, or don't see a concert on Totem, you can create your own event by clicking Create Event. All you have to do is enter the events information, upload some photos, and submit. If everything looks good, a member of Team Totem will post your event live on the app.

How do I post?
To post, you hit the + icon in the bottom middle of any of the pages. Select one, or multiple photos/ videos from your camera roll, tag the artist and song in the video, edit the photos/ videos in your post, then lastly add a caption, tag your friends, and tag the location and event you are posting about!

How do I message people?
In order to message someone, either go to their profile page and click "message", or click the message icon located at the top of each screen (located to the right of your username).

What is Tribe?
Tribe is what we call close friends. You can add to your Tribe by going to your profile page, going to interests, then clicking on Add. Your Tribe will be shown to other Totem users if they visit your profile.

How do I make a story?
To post a story, go over to the Home Page. On the top left of the feed, you should see Post Story. Click on Post Story, and either take a live photo or video, or upload from your camera roll. You can then either post your story so your followers will see, or click on My Tribe, so only your close friends will see. You can also add your story directly to an already existing Memory folder, or create a new Memory.

How do I change my Interests?
You can change each part of your Interests section by clicking Edit Profile on your profile page.

How do I create a Memory?
Memories are what we call folders that store your content, organized by the name of the event, and year that the event took place. You can create a memory by going to your profile page, clicking on Memories, then clicking on the + sign. Upload up to 10 photos and videos at the same time, then add a caption and name of the event. When you are adding the Event Name, we suggest to leave out the year of the event, and add the year of the event on the section directly below. This will ensure your events are organized. After an event is created, you can edit the event by clicking on the three dots on the upper right corner. You can also add more photos and videos by clicking on the +. Toggle each photo and video to private if you do not want other users seeing that particular tile.
